Dysport first received US FDA approval in April 2009. Dysport has been used in Europe for the last 10 years, under the brand name of Reloxin. Dysport (Reloxin) has effect similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic. Some studies have shown that Dysport may be faster acting than BOTOX® Cosmetic.
Dysport is a purified protein which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.
The beauty of Dysport treatment is that it's a simple, 10-minute, non-surgical process. You can even do it on your lunch break.
Ideal candidates for treatment are persons who wish to see an improvement in their facial lines and wrinkles, but do not wish to commit to a facial surgery.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments
Dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles caused by facial expression and muscle movement), are especially prevalent in the area around the eyes, forehead, and the glabellar area between the eyebrows. Fortunately, these wrinkles are very responsive to Dysport treatments. One of the benefits of Dysport injections is that it weakens the muscles responsible for squinting and crinkling of these areas. Excessive Sweating
Dysport injections can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in much the same way it smoothes fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Dysport acts as an inhibitor, blocking the chemical signals sent from the nerves that control sweating. Sweating stops because the sweat glands are unable to receive signals from the nerves. Because of its effectiveness in inhibiting the nerve signals, Dysport has proven to be effective at eliminating excessive sweating problems. Areas which are commonly treated are the under-arms, and the palms. It is well known in Hollywood circles that stars often receive botulinum A injections a few days before high-profile events to control excessive under-arm sweating.
THE PROCEDURE
No anesthetic is required, although ice is recommended for it's numbing effect. Several tiny injections of Dysport are given directly into the muscles that cause those moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and forehead. Treatment time is approximately 10 minutes.
Within days there should be a noticeable improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines and crows feet that can last up to 6 months.
